Biography

William was born on the 9th November 1868 in West Hartlepool, Co. Durham, England ^[1]. He was the son of Charles Edwin Shepherd and Catherine Anne Crosby. He was baptised on the 3rd January 1869 in Christ Church, West Hartlepool ^[2]. William are up with his parents in Hartlepool ^[3][4].

William married Margaret Ann Cass on the 9th December 1894 in Hartlepool ^[5]. At the time he lived at 15 Brunswick Str., Hartlepool. He was 26 years 1 month old. Sadly Margaret died within two years of her marriage, possibly during childbirth.

William moved to Sunderland and on the 26th November 1899 he married Margaret Marlborough in Sunderland, Co. Durham ^[6]. He was 31 years old and at the time lived at Dryfford Rd., Sunderland. Margaret and William settled in Sunderland and there raised their family ^[7][8]. William was a Police Constable.

William died about February 1915 in Sunderland. He was still young aged just 46 years 4 months. ^[9].
