Biography
Elizabeth was born in 1760. She was baptised on the 22nd December 1760 in Leverton, Lincolnshire. [1]
She married William Waite (bef.1755- on the 17th May 1780 at St Helen's Church, in Leverton, Lincolnshire. William was of Revesby, Lincolnshire. [2] [3]
She passed away before 1822.
Research Notes
Elizabeth's maiden name was most probably Shepherd. The date of the marriage fits and her date of baptism would have made her about nineteen when she married.
There is a gap between the marriage date and birth of William and Elizabeth's children but this could be accounted for by births not yet found or miscarriages.
The marriage between Elizabeth Shepherd and William Waite is the most likely one for William Waite, baptised in Leake. The other possible marriage between another William Waite and Elizabeth Uttin [4] is too late and also their children were baptised in Fishtoft.
