Hill notes-Death date from Mary Torpey Was a ward of her grandfather Avington by 1819 and her father Abselem had died by this time. Casandra may also have died by this time. MichaelLeete says she was of the same family as Zachariah Sherley, owner of the river boats that ferried Federal troops from Louisville to the aid of General Grant. Bond by Smith Felps with Robert Tyler. m 10-11-1823 minister Wm. Dawkins Birth and deathplace from Barbara Whiteside who calls her Alpha Shirley.
