Biography

Mary Sherman was born at Watertown, Massachusetts about 1639, daughter of John Sherman and his first wife Mary (__). [1] [2]

She married first, Henry Freeman on November 17, 1656 at Watertown as his second wife. [3] Henry, son of Samuel and Apphia (Quicke) Freeman was born in England about 1625, likely at Blackfriars, London where his parents were married in 1624. [4] [1] [5]

Her husband Henry died at Watertown on November 12, 1672. [3] [4] [1] His estate was inventoried in 1673 and valued at L118 19s 6d. [4] [6]

Mary married second, Lewis Allen on December 6, 1677 as his second wife.

December 6, 1677: Mary Freeman, alias Allen with the consent of her husband Lewis Allen, confirmed a 1665 deed made by Henry Sherman.

Mary Allen died at Watertown on July 15, 1703.

Lewis died there on January 24, 1708.

From the 20 Dec 1710 will of James Freeman (abt.1650-) ". . . unto my Brethren Ebenezer Allen and Elisha Allen and my sister Elizabeth Allen. . . . " Not sure where they fit into the Allen family. If James named Elizabeth as a sister logically Ebenezer would be named brother. Another couple of pieces to the puzzle perhaps.
