Her name was spelled a couple different ways. The first name was written Cebilla, Cybilla, Cevilla, Sybilla or Savilla. It is believed she changed it to Savilla years later, especially after she moved to Maryland. The surname had spellings of Schuermann, Schirmann, Scherman and finally Sherman.
1880- Widow (age 49 yrs.), lived in Manchester, Carroll County, Md caring for her 5 children under the ages of 21 yrs.
1893 - cared for her granddaughter, Eva S. Bixler after her daughter, Mary Jane died. The father, Charles Bixler unable to care for a young daughter 1900- Lived at 80 Main Street, Manchester, MD, three living children, owned house, no mortgage, had son, Jacob E. & his family living with her.
1900 census - she lived at North Main Street in Manchester, MD, owning her own house. Living with her were her son, Jacob E. Musselman, age 30 years, along with his wife, Mary Hester and their two children, Mae Louise and Henry E. Musselman. Jacob and Mary Hester had been married 3 years and he was a cigar maker.
