Obituary

Prentiss Headlight, Prentiss, Mississippi, February 7, 1971
Sherman services held at Spring Hill.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 from Spring Hill Church near Shivers for Wilson Sherman, 53, of Route 2, New Hebron, who died Tuesday night at his home. Rev. C. B. Wiley officiated and interment followed in the Peacock Cemetery with Saulters Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were L. W. Sherman, Jimmy Jennings, Mitchell Cody, Mims Lee, Russell Sherman and Glen Grubbs.
Mr. Sherman was a native and lifelong resident of Simpson County. He engaged in farming before ill health forced his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jewel Lee Sherman of Route 2, New Hebron; three sons, Newton Wilson Sherman, Jr., Shelby Sherman and Guysell Sherman, all of Route 2, New Hebron; four daughters, Mrs. Charles Clark, Mrs. Paul Foster, Miss Sandra Sherman, all of Route 2, New Hebron; Mrs. Doug Steverson of Hattiesburg; one brother, Felix Sherman of Belle Chase, La., and nine grandchildren.[1]
