Biography
Prudence Sherman was a daughter of David & Mercy (Wheeler) Sherman. She was baptized on 20 Oct 1706 at Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut.
She married (as his second wife) widower Robert Denison, son of Robert & Joanna (Stanton) Denison of Mohegan, on 4 Apr 1733 in Connecticut. They were parents of 8 children:
- David Denison, b. 12 Aug 1734; married Sarah Fox
- Mercy Denison (5 Oct 1736 - 15 Jan 1743)
- Robert Denison, b. 31 Jul 1739; d. 25 Dec 1743 (uncertain)
- Samuel Denison, b. 8 Feb 1742/43; unmarried; d. 1820
- Denison-131|Sarah Denison]], b. 11 Nov 1744; married Capt. Kennedy
- Phebe Denison, b. 1 Jan 1747; married Benajah Phelps
- Gurdon Denison, b. about 1749; married Catherine Fitzpatrick
- Eunice Denison; married John Lothrop
On 3 May 1763, she is mentioned in her sister, Eunice St. John's estate distribution.[1]
The death date and location of Prudence (Sherman) Denison are not yet evident. It is not known if she accompanied her husband to Nova Scotia in 1760, where he lived out his life.
