Research notes

In 1850 a Job Sherman (55, b. MA, farmer) headed a Middlebury, NY (Wyoming County) household with Lois Sherman (53, b. VT), Louisa A. Sherman (female, 26, b. NY), George F. Sherman, b. NY, farmer), Lois Sherman (86, b. MA), William Flinn (25, b. Ireland, farmer), and Ann Quinlan (21, b. Ireland).

Job Sherman's grave is marked by a wide stone to the far side of the Wyoming Village Cemetery, NY 5 rows to the front of (brother) Seymour Sherman's family plots, which are are in the main part of the cemetery to the right of the first row inside the driving circle (if one is facing the front of the cemetery) (seven graves are together: buried with Seymour are his wife Esther, son Abel, son Azel, daughter Lois, daughter Delight, and mother-in-law-Abigail Beach).[2]
