Stephen Sherman was born about 1824, likely in Burriville, Rhode Island, son of George and Abigail Sherman. He married Uranah Gifford at Blackstone, Massachusetts on October 4, 1854. [1] Uranah was born at Uxbridge, Massachusetts on October October 18, 1824, daughter of Farnum Gifford and Robey Brown. [2]
Stephen married second, Lydia Cutler on December 1, 1864 at Uxbridge as her second husband. Lydia, of Providence, Rhode Island, was the daughter of Peter and Sarah. [3]
