Biography

Edward moved to Fort Branch Indiana in 1836. He became a railroad man, shoved ties into the firebox. His little toe was cut off by a train. When he was 21, he married Martha Phillips who was a Southerner. Her folks had slaves. She came to Indiana from Kentucky. Worked out (Housework). Had fun out of everything. She was 27 when she married Edward in 1855. Edward ran a grocery store and saloon after he married Martha. Edward died in 1866 of appendicitis. He is buried in Spillman'S Cemetery in Indiana
