Eunice is the daughter of Samuel and Rachel (Hyde/Hide) Shepherd. Samuel is honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution for patriotic service as a minister.

They had seven sons and two daughters. Two of the sons became prominent physicians: Samuel Sherwood Noys of New Canaan and Burr W. Noyes of New York City. Another son, William, would become the operator of a general store in Weston. (Farnham)

Eunice was born about 1765.
