During the War of 1812, Thomas Sherwood served as a private in the 1st York Militia. From Sept. 25 to 28, 1813, he served in Captain Jeremiah Traviss’ Company.

Thomas is buried in the Mann Cemetery in Keswick, York County, Ontario, Canada.
