Biography
When William Shiel was born on 11 December 1751 in Berwickshire, his father, William, was 26 and his mother, Margaret, was 22. He married Elizabeth Chisholm on 29 November 1777 in Longformacus, Berwickshire. They had two children during their marriage. He died in 1802 at the age of 51.
