DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Pj or other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage (beta) of DNA with Pj:

Patty - thanks for welcoming me. My Shields ancestry seems to be through Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and then Indiana. My grandfather Shields' spouse's ancestry goes back to a McCullough in Pennsylvania but that's as close as I can get to a PA connection.

The Patty family of Westmoreland, PA may be related to one of the lines I research. I have found those in TN, AL, GA, NC and SC locations, back to 1700s.

Hope you can add more details and family to your wikitree.

Welcome to the 1776 Project: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:1776

There are category links to add to your ancestor's profiles and research links to learn more about your family. The Project is a good way to consolidate the WikiTree ancestors with historic connections to the years of 1773 (Boston Tea Party) to 1789 (ratification of the U.S. Constitution.) All patriot, loyalist, Hessians, French, Native Americans or any other profiles with a connection to these years should be linked to an appropriate category in the Project.

Some categories have a template (SAR) to add at the top of a biography. If not, add a category link by putting the category name such as
Pj (Shields) Patty participated in the American Revolution
Thank you.

Hi Pam! Here's the link to the Family History Photo of the Week G+ community: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/114501519056827303829/communities/108849178574300887819

This is where photos are posted and nominated each week and also a link to where you can vote. We've just started posting the nominated photos on Facebook each week so people can vote there too!

Hi Pam,

One of your recently uploaded photos is a nominee in our "Family History Photo of the Week." We'll feature the winner on the main WikiTree home page all next week and share it on our social networks. I assume you wouldn't mind having the photo featured like this, if it were to win. If for some reason you wouldn't want this, let me know right away. We could remove it from the list of nominees if you let me know before Friday. Also, it isn't necessary, but if you have any more information about the photo or the person, I am sure members of the group would love to hear any stories or information that adds background color. You can add the additional information in the comment box here underneath the photo. Thank you!
