Biography
William Shields was born July 4, 1738 in Virginia. He was the fifth of the ‘ten sons’ of Robert Shields and Nancy Stockton.[1]
He married Margaret Wilson (1770-1845) in 1789 in Tennessee; they had eleven known children.[1]
He married Amanda Logan (1785-1824) in 1813 in Indiana.[1]
William died October 5, 1823 in Washington County, Indiana. His place of burial is not known, his memorial has biographical material and links to those of family members. [1]
