Biography

Caroline Shields was born on 10 September 1876 in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia ^[1], the daughter of William Shields and Caroline Sonter and the sister of William Silas Shields, Herbert Ernest Shields (Died aged 3 years), Lennie (Liney) Gertrude Shields (Died aged 20 months) and Lineal Edgar A. Shields.

She married Arthur Zadock Mobbs in 1894 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ^[2] and they had at least two children, Rupert Arthur Mobbs (1 Feb 1895–1968) and Linda G (Mobbs) Hughes (1897–1962).

Arthur died on 25 November 1896 in Carlingford, New South Wales, Australia, three months before their daughter Linda was born on 25 February 1897.

Caroline then married Frederick Mobbs on 27 March 1899 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ^[3]. She and Frederick divorced four years later, on 11 June 1904 in New South Wales, Australia.

On 9 December 1905, she married William John Bevan (1874–1934) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ^[4] and their children were John Bevan (1902–Dec), Bruce Bevan (1904–Dec), Rita Catherine Bevan (1906–1920), Alexander John Bevan (1908–1970) and Cyril Wallace Bevan( 1918–1996).

Caroline died on 16 August 1937 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ^[5].
