Biography

George Shields was born on 6 August 1854 in Pennant Hills, New South Wales, Australia, the son of James Henry Shields and Mary Ann (Bellamy) Shields ^[1].

He was the brother of James Shields, William Shields, Joseph Henry Shields, Thomas Shields, Samuel Shields, Arthur Shields, Albert Shields, Rachel (Shields) Smith, Mary Anne (Shields) Pogson, Martha Jane (Shields) McMullen and Sarah Shields.

He married Rebecca Clark(e) on 19 June 1878 ^[2]

Their children were Henry Stanley Shields, Amos Alfred Shields, Linda M. Atfield (born Shields), Silvia A. Pettet (born Shields), Reginald George Shields, Oscar Frederick Shields.

George died in 1931 at Hornsby, New South Wales, Australia. For some reason his death record has his father's name as George when it was actually James Henry ^[3].
