Isaac Shimer Sr. was born in 1749.[1]
The Shimer family crossed into Williams Township, Pennsylvania from Lower Saucon Township, Pennsylvania late in the 18th century.[1]
Isaac had several sons.[1]
In 1785, Isaac purchased a 192 acre farm in Williams Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania, United States from Andrew Raub (b. 1734, d. 1807).[1]
In the 1790's, Isaac purchased more land in Williams Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania, United States. This time, from Anthony Lerch and Jacob Bittenbender.[1]
That farm was adjacent to Old Williams Church, around the intersection of Hexenkoph Road and Raubsville-Hellertown Road. There, he built a 20 by 30 foot 2 story home before 1798.[1]
He died in 1838 in Williams Township, and willed his property to his son Jacob[1][2] (b. 1783, d. 1837).[1]
Shimer is also spelled Sheimer.[1]
