Edward Rittenhouse Shimer/Scheimer was born on 28 February 1741 in Shimersville (the oldest village at the mouth of Saucon Creek and named after Jacob Shimer), Bethlehem, at that time Bucks County, now Northampton County, Province of Pennsylvania.[1]
April 23, 1792, Edward, along with Anthony Lerch, George Henry Unangst and George LaUbach purchased one acre of land in Northampton County from Jacob Miller for the use of a school and school master.
Edward died at the age of 74 on 16 February 1815 in Readington, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, USA.

Unusual information: It's unusual for a mother's birth date (Rittenhouse-205 born 1679) to be more than 55 years before the birth date of one of her children (Shimer-25 born 28 Feb 1741).
