Biography
The daughter of John Franklin Shipley and Rachel, easch of whom was born in Ireland, the family moved from farmland in Illinois to a farm west of Wichita near Goddard as some of the earliest settlers. The age spread of her siblings was so great that she married a man and her younger sister married his oldest son. She was killed in a car wreck in Wichita as a passenger when her brother-in-law was driving and several of the siblings were traveling to the hospital to visit a relative.
