Biography

Israel was born about 1754. He is the son of Israel Shipman and Jane Wheeler.

During the Revolutionary War, Israel Shipman enlisted on 1 March 1778 in the 6th Connecticut Regiment, Captain Elisha Ely's Company, for 10 months. He was sick at Fishkill from September 14th until his death on 31 October 1778.
