She was the daughter of William Shipman, merchant of Bristol, who died between 21 Jul 1551 (date of his Will) and 5 Feb 1551/2 (date of probate). The Will confirms her marriage to Francis Codrington: "my son-in-law Francis Codrington". The Will also mentions William's daughter Margaret and her son Giles Codrington. Margaret was also named in the 1557 will of her husband Francis Codrington, also a merchant of Bristol. [1]
