Biography
When Vesta Gertrude Shipp was born on June 9, 1881, in Blount, Alabama, her father, Rollie, was 34, and her mother, Mary, was 39. She married William Henry McLeroy on August 7, 1902. They had eight children in 15 years. She died on June 24, 1921, in her hometown at the age of 40.
