Biography

On 28 Jan 1790, he married Catharine Harding. ^[1] (see attached image).

Year of birth is an estimate based only on the birth years of his children. His children included:

• Rachel Shipp, c. 5 Dec 1790; ^[2]
• Hannah Ship, c. 10 Oct 1793 ^[3]
• William Shipp, 22 Feb 1795; ^[4]

Research Notes

Given that he had children named Rachel and William, one likely candidate record for his christening would be that of Daniel Shipp on 5 Aug 1770, son of William and Rachel Shipp, ^[5] however, that record shows a date of death of 3 May 1772; possibly a second son named Daniel born to these parents?

However, according to a secondary source, Daniel is the son of Joseph Shipp (1724-1793) and Sarah Walker (1730-1811).
