Elizabeth was born on April 18, 1802 and a daughter of George Shirley and Elizagbeth "Betsy" Lee. Elizabeth married William B. Johnston on May 15, 1822 in Madison County, Kentucky. She passed away on March 17, 1890 in Henry County, Missouri and buried in Snodgrass Union Cemetery in Bates County, Missouri.[1]
