George Washington was born in 1855. George Washington Shivers is the son of William Riley and Sarah Adeline Magee Shivers. He is listed with his parents on the 1860 Census[1] in Simpson, Mississippi. On November 30, 1877 he married Susan (Sue) Virginia Berry.[2] The couple are listed together with two sons on the 1880 Census[3] in Simpson, Mississippi and on the 1900 Census[4] with five children listed in Navarro, Texas. He passed away in Texas in 1901. [5]
