Esau Shockley, born about 1803, married Elizabeth Farmer in 31 Oct 1822; he died in the late 1840's leaving his widow with eleven children[1][2]

1850 Carroll County, Virginia Census: This is the widow and younger children of Esau Shockley. Esau was the son of Meredith and Sarah (Worrell) Shockley, born about 1802. He had probably died earlier this census year. Elizabeth was the daughter of Michael and Ailcy Farmer (probably his cousin) and had married him in 1822. There were eleven children.[5]

Esau was born in 1803 in Grayson County, Virginia. He was the son of Meredith Shockley and Sarah (Worrell) Shockley.[6]

When Esau was about 19 he married on 31 October 1822 in Grayson County, Virginia.[6]

Esau died at the age of about 47 on 19 February 1850 in Carroll County, Virginia.[6]
