David was born in 1678. He married, spouse unknown, likely about 1717-1718, for his son William's birth is recorded in the records of Stepney Parish as 4 Aug 1719. In all, six children are shown as being born to "David Shockly and his wife" in those records:[1]
William Shockly (b 4 Aug 1719)
Mary Shockly (b 30 Nov 1723)
Solomon Shockly (b 6 Feb 1726)
Sarah Shockly (b 13 Jan 1728)
Benjamin Shockly (b 4 Jul 1731)
Isaac Shockly (b 1 Nov 1736)
David's will lists several legitimate children not named in the Stepney Parish register: James Shockley, John Shockley, David Shockley, and Agnes (Shockley) Engram; the only child in common between the two records is Solomon. In his will, David also acknowledges fathering two children, Love Rathbone and Emily Rathbone, of Mary Rathbone. They were under age 16 when he passed away in 1754.[2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with David by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with David:
David Shockley I, born 1686 (Shockley-75), and David Shockley, born 1678 (Schokley-311). Thank you for working to make wikiTree more accurate.
