Biography

Paul Douglas Shorey, husband of Carolyn (Cameron) Shorey, passed away on August 13, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 26, 1945 in Toronto, ON. He was the son of the late John and Irene (May) Shorey. After 35 years of service with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Paul retired in 2001 giving him time to enjoy playing golf, his work shop and the important game of poker. Besides his wife Carolyn, he is survived by son Mark Shorey (Jackie) of Millbrook, ON; daughter Christina Shorey (Charles) of Ottawa, ON; step sons Allen Jarvis (Jo-Anne) of Fredericton, NB and Carl Jarvis (Jessica) of Barrie, ON; grandchildren Braydan Shorey, Brennen Jarvis, Kendra Shorey and Alison Jarvis; sisters Darlene Conforzi and Charlene Shorey; brother in law John Godere; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ford Shorey and sister Gwen Godere. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home Ltd., 302 Brookside, Dr. Fredericton, NB on Sunday, August 15, 2010 from 7 to 9pm and Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 2pm with Rt. Rev. George Lemmon officiating.
