STAMFORD- Joyce Laverne Hill, 75, of Stamford died Tuesday, April 12, 2005. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Wingrove officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home.
Joyce was born January 29, 1929 in Stamford, the daughter of the late Clifford Clayton and Mary Catherine Griffin Short. She married James Hill on May 31, 1968 in Stamford. Joyce was a retired insurance agent, was a lifetime resident of Stamford and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a homemaker.
Surviving Joyce are her husband, James Hill of Stamford; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Green of Mesa, Arizona; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Kenneth Elkins of Stamford; 1 sister, Virgie London of Stamford; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
