Elizabeth was born about 1826. She is the daughter of John Shortt and Mary Fitzgerald. ^[1]

1851 - Lamphier Estate Papers: Letters of administration intestate of the estate of John Shortt, Pallas, Co Tipperary Prerogative Court John George … Archbishop of Armagh … Judge or President of HM Court of Prerogative … to our well-beloved in Christ, Elizabeth Shortt, spinster, the natural and lawful daughter and one of the next of kin of John Shortt late of Pallas in the County of Tipperaryt Esquire deceased Whereas the said John Shortt / so as aforesaid / deceased… died intestate … and whereas Marianne Shortt the widow and relict of the said deceased hath by an instrument in writing under her hand and seal freely and absolutely renounced all her right title and interest of in and to Letters of Administration of all and singular the goods and chattels of said deceased as of a person dying intestate … We do therefore grant full power and authority to you in whose fidelity we confide to administer and well and faithfully to dispose of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits and Chattels of the said John Shortt … and make a true and full inventory of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits and Chattels of the said John Shortt deceased and toi exhibit the same into the Registry of her Majesty’s Court of Prerogative on or before the last day of July next ensuing and also to return a true full and perfect Account thereof into the said Court … 18/1/1851^[2]
