Elizabeth Shortt was born to Adam Kurtz Shortt and Mrs Odell. Her father was of German descent and a loyalist fighting for King George. Following the war Elizabeth with her parents and siblings relocated to what is now Prince Edward county,Ontario. She married Sylvanus Doxsee 1810 in Ameliasburg,Prince Edward county where the married couple raised a family of 9 children. Elizabeth Doxsee died May 2, 1854 and is interred at Bethel-Doxsee Cemetery in Sophiasburg TWP,Prince Edward County,Ontario with her husband,Sylvanus.
