Biography

Joseph Warren Shoup. son of Jonathan Timothy Shoup and Virginia Ada Mae (Pound) Shoup, was born on 5 Nov. 1854 at Danville, Yell County, Arkansas, USA.^[1][2]

He appeared on the census of 15 Aug. 1860 in the home of his father at Spring Creek, Yell County, Arkansas.^[3]

He married Theodocia Louvenia Roberson,^[1] daughter of Lindsey Roberson and Elmira Elmina (Brock) Roberson, in 1883.^[2][4]

He was a farmer when he and Theodocia appeared on the census of 16 June 1900 at Erath County, Texas.^[5]

He was still listed as a farmer during the 1930 Federal Census with Theodocia and a young daughter, Othello^[6].

Joseph died on 22 Aug. 1934 at Erath County, Texas^[1] and was buried at Duffau Cemetery, Duffau, Erath County, Texas. His memorial has photos and links to those of family members.^[2][7]
