Name: James Anderson SHOUP. [1] Anderson Shoup. aka Found multiple versions of name. Using James Anderson SHOUP. Born 15 SEP 1842. Tuscarawas County, Ohio. [2] [3] Died at home. 30 NOV 1862. Sandusky County of Ohio. [4] Occupation: Farmer. [3] CAUS Note: #N55.

Note N55Anderson Shoup died in Sandusky co., O.. Nov. 30, aged 20 years, 2 months and 15 days. He was a member of the 49th reft., O. V., and was in the army about 9 months, although a great part of the time he was in the hospital, suffering from pulmonary affection. He was finally discharged and came home to die. His funeral occurred just three weeks from the day, that he came home. He died in great peace. Just before he departed he asked his young friends present to sing. They sang “Salvation’s free.” He joined in singing; and when they closed, he said, “Yes, I’m glad, Salvation’s free,” and in a few moments he passed away to the glory work.
