- Minnie Vesta Showers married Jacob H Richard shortly after the turn of the 1900's. He was a widower, this was her first marriage. Minnie was in love with a man named Tom Gerald, but her father would not consent to the marriage; he chose her other suitor, the established preacher Jacob Richard, for her husband. Jacob and Minnie had 5 children, listed below. After Jacob Richard died, Minnie married a man named Jacob Laub. Laub died one year after their marriage.
