On23 April 1874 at Palmerston, he married Margaret Mary Rich, daughter of Mr. Rich of "Busy Park".

On 13 January 1900 at New Plymouth, he married Edith Maude Forster, daughter of Henry Forster.

He is buried at Crownthorpe Cemetery, Hastings.
