Biography

Wilhelm Siepmann was born 1831 in Heißen, Kreis Mülheim an der Ruhr, son of the miner Johann Siepmann and his wife Catharina nee Ufer.[1] He was baptized on 9 Apr 1831 in Mülheim. [2]

He was a miner.

On 13 Mar 1856 he married Caterina (Lang) Siepmann (1835-1900) in Luxemburg.[3]

Their first child Katherine Jeanette (Siepmann) Hartgenbusch (1856-1920) was born 9 Jun 1856 in Temmels/Saarland.

They moved to Oberhausen.

Their 2nd child Frederick William Siepmann (1860-1920) and all further children were born in Oberhausen.

In 1867, he was living in Oberhausen, Section IV No. 46 1/4. [4]

In 1883, he was living in the same house, with the day-labourer Albert Siepmann (a relative?) [5]

He died 28.04.1885 in Oberhausen. At the time of his death, he still was living in Oberhausen, house Section IV, No. 46 1/4. The death was reported by his wife Catharina Siepmann nee Lang.[6]

Several of his children emigrated to Iowa/USA in the 1880s.

Albert Siepmann lives 1913 on Roonstr. 34: Adressbuch Oberhausen 1913, Roonstr.

Article in the official gazette 1909

The house with the mortgage is very likely Oberhausen, Section IV No. 46 1/4, where Wilhelm lived most of his life. Is it the same as Roonstr. 34?
(I.e. Was Albert able to pay the outstanding mortgage and stay in his fathers house?)

We can assume the name list is in order of birth. - This was ususal, and it is for the children with known birth dates.

Other trees for this family claim Alwine to be the youngest child - but according to the list, she was born between Friedrich Wilhelm and Franziska Wilhelmine, that is 1861-62.
She probably is called Maria which is a very common name and difficult to find..
1909 here whereabouts already were unknown - she probably moved away.
I could not find her in the NRW death record 1875-1938. She either died later or has moved to another region. (Or the name is badly transcripted, of course.)

Same with Eduard Albert: looking at the list, he was born 1864-1868.

I found this death record, which is likely Albert (but unfortunately, parents names are not mentioned in this period): Landesarchiv NRW, Abteilung Rheinland, PA 3103 (Personenstandsregister Sterbefälle), Nr. 23005 Sterberegister 1929, No. 953 Eduard Albert Siepmann, born 5 Mai 1865, died 10 Sep 1929, living Roonstraße 34, married to Margaretha Grohmann. Eduard Albert Siepmann (1864-1929)

So it is him in the 1913 Adress book above Adressbuch Oberhausen 1913, Roonstr.

Can he also be the Albert living with Wilhelm in 1883? He was only 18 then.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Wilhelm by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Wilhelm:
