Alvena Elizabeth Siepmann was born in Iowa Township, Cedar County, Iowa, on 8 April 1903, a daughter of Joseph John Siepmann and Katherine Johansen. 
She was married to James M Curran.
The 1930 U.S. Census recorded James Curran, age 26, and wife Alvena, also age 26, in Omaha, Nebraska, with newborn daughter Colleen. James was born in Nebraska to a father born in the Irish Free State and a mother born in Pennsylvania. Alvena was born in Iowa to parents who were born in Germany. James worked as a draughtsman for the "railroad (bridge) industry." He and Alvena both were married at age 24.
Alvena Curran died on 28 December 2007 at age 104.
