Marriage
On May 20, 1815, Jakob married Trijntje Pieters Kooistra, the 25 year old daughter of Pieter Wopkes and Jitske Yntes. [2] This marriage produced three children, Tietje (1821,) Jitske (1825,) and Pieter (1829.)

Jakob died on August 25, 1852 in Leeuwarden, Friesland, Nederland.

Jacob van der Wey and Trijntje Pyters had a son, Pieter van der Wey, on November 1, 1816, who appears to have died young.[3]
