Biography

Sarah "Sally" Sigman, born about 1793, was the daughter of George and Catherine (Laughrsrin) Sigman.[1]

Spouse: Joseph Beck, son of Jacob Beck
Married 15 December 1812 in Burke County, North Carolina. Joseph's bondsman was Nicholas Beck.[2] Joseph's father, Jacob Beck, was a miller, as was Joseph.

6 October 1811, Joseph Beck purchased 112 acres from Daniel Beck. The deed was proved by Nicholas Beck at July 1812 county court sessions 1812.[3]

Joseph died intestate 1831 or 1832. His estate files name his widow Sarah “Sally” Beck and eight children, five of whom were minors under age twenty-one. Joseph owned about 139 acres, most of which was not suitable for cultivation. The last action on record regarding Joseph's estate is dated 15 April 1845.[6]
