He met Ranka Peterson and they married on 29 Nov 1907 in Akra, Pembina, North Dakota, USA.[2] They had eleven children.[3]
After living for a time in Akra, the family moved to Elfros, Saskatchewan in 1912, and later to a farm at Wynyard until 1924.[4] They moved to Saskatoon in 1930 where he worked for the Wawanesa Insurance Co. until retiring in 1946.[4]
