Biography of Catherina SIGWALT SCHRICK of 1727

Catherina Sigwalt was born Saturday, May 24, 1727 in Muttersholtz, the daughter of Wolfgang Sigwalt and his wife Margaretha Elizabeth who were married on December 4, 1719.

Catherina Sigwalt lost her mother Margaretha Elizabeth, age 45, on August 27, 1739, her father's birthday. Catherina was 12 years old when her mother passed away.

Catherina Sigwalt lost her father Wolfgang Sigwalt, age 45, in 1742, when Catherina was 15 years old.

Catherina Sigwalt married for the first time on November 16, 1749, when she was 22 years old, to Johann Jacob Hollinger, in Muttersholtz. and had two children :

1. Johann Jacob Hollinger, Jr. was born January 3, 1752, married Marie Salome Heitz, and had children, and passed away in 1808 during the Napoleonic Wars, at the age of 56 years old.
2. Johann Hollinger, who was born in 1754 and passed away in 1766 at the age of 12, the same year as his mother passed away.

Catherina Sigwalt lost her first husband Johann Jacob Hollinger, Sr. who passed away in 1757. leaving her a widow with two young children to support.

Catherina Sigwalt remarried to Johann Georg Schirck, a widower with six children on February 19, 1758, and had six more babies. All of her babies died at birth or in infancy:

1. Unknown Son Schirck/Schurch in 1758, who died at birth.
2. Margaretha Schirck/Schurch in 1760 who died in infancy.
3. Unknown Son Schirck/Schurch in 1762, who died at birth.
4. Maria Ursula Schirck/Schurch in 1764 who died in infancy
5. Maria Elisabeth Schirck/Schurch in 1766 who died in infancy
6. Uknown Schirck/Schurch in 1766, who died at birth.

Catherina Sigwalt passed away on December 13, 1766 in Muttersholtz, following her deceased infants to heaven at the age of 38 years old.
