Biography

Douglas Sikes was born August 15, 1919 in Arkansas to father Tandy Belton Sikes and mother Lonie Mae Brazzell.[1]

Douglas Sikes was enumerated as son of the head of household at Big Springs Road, Sulphur, Miller County, Arkansas for the January 21, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born October 1918 in Arkansas and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Belton Sikes, wife Lonie Sikes, daughter Myrtle Sikes, son Daris Sikes, daughter Ginetta Sikes and boarder Claud Jackson.[2]

Douglas Sikes was enumerated as son of the head of household at Sulphur, Miller County, Arkansas for the April 7, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1918 in Arkansas and single as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Tandy B Sikes, wife Lonia Sikes, daughter Neva Sikes, son Tandy B Sikes Jr. and daughter Jennetta Betterton.[3]

Douglas Sikes died November 2, 1973 in Atlanta, Cass County, Texas. He was married.[1]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[4] Douglas Sikes is buried at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Doddridge, Miller County, Arkansas.[5]
