Elijah Sikes, son of Joseph and Eunice (Smith) Sikes, was born about 1772 in Massachusetts.
He married Lucretia Anderson.
He married Clara "Clarissa" (Elton) Giddings, widow Levi S. Giddings and daughter of Ebenezer and Rhoda (Hurlburt) Elton, on 1 Jan. 1831 at trumbull County, Ohio.[1]
He was a stone cutter when he and Clara appeared on the census of 9 Sep. 1850 at Hartford, Trumbull County, Ohio.[2]
Elijah died on 11 Sep. 1855 probably at Trumbull County, Ohio and was buried at Brookfield Cemetery, Brookfield, Trumbull County, Ohio. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and notes that he was a tombstone carver.[3]
