Salomea Genevieve (Lasecki) Sikorski was born on 18 Aug 1897 in Dunkirk, Chautauqua, New York, daughter of Laurentius Lasecki (1874 - 1941) and Katherine (Spekczynski) Lasecki (1877 - 1953).

Her siblings were:

  1. Victoria Shirley (Lasecki) Burkiewicz (1899 - 1986)
  2. Frank Stanley Lasecki (1900 - 1973)
  3. Joanna Marie (Lasecki) Sikorski (1902 - 1996)

In 1910, the family was living on Ocelot St in the First Ward in Dunkirk, NY and they owned their home. Lawrence was working as a driver for a feed company and Katherine had given birth to seven children all of whom were living. They were Sally age 12, Victoria age 11, Frank age 9, Joanna age 7, Helen age 5, Clara age 3 and Lawrence 1 year and 4 months. Sally, Victoria, Frank and Joanna were attending school[1]

The family was still living on Ocelot St in 1915, however, Lawrence was now working as a store clerk and Victoria and Sally were working at a silk mill. The family had also grown. Frank, Joanna, Helen, Clara and Lawrence were at school, while Mary, Gert and John were at home[2]

In 1920, Lawrence and Katherine now owned a home on Genet St. Lawrence was working as a pipe fitter at the Locomotive Works. Sallie and Victoria were listed as working at the Silk Mill. Joanna, Helen, Clara, Lawrence Jr, Mary, Gertrude, and John were listed at school. Added to family were two sons, Theodore and Roman who were at home. Also, in the house were Katherine's father, Nicholas Spekczynski and a nephew, Edward Spekczynski[3]. Another listing shows Victoria as living with and working for a family on Front St[4]. Joanna would no longer have been at school and should have been shown as working at the Silk Mill which may have led to the confusion.

In April 1925, her sister, Helen, married Leonard Pawlak, Sally and her future husband, Walter Sikorski served as witnesses[5]. The 1925 Census lists Sally as living with her parents, siblings and grandfather on Genet Street in Dunkirk, NY[6].

Salomea married Walter Peter Sikorski (1894 - 1982) on 14 Jun 1926 in Dunkirk. Their daughter was Leonore (Sikorski) Palmer (1927 - 2010)[7]. The following June, her sister Joanna married Walter's brother, Max[8]..

Salomea died on 24 Nov 1993 in Dunkirk aged 96[9]. She is buried in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Dunkirk[10].
