Eduard Silbermann was born in Walsdorf, Oberfranken, Bavaria, Germany, 25 Apr 1851. He was the son of Lazarus Silbermann and Luise Zenner.[1] He had at least 8 siblings born between 1843 and 1859.

"Eduard Silbermann (April 25, 1851 in Kolmsdorf – February 9, 1917 in Munich) was a German jurist and the first German prosecutor of Jewish descent.
"Eduard Silbermann grew up from 1854 to 1862 in an Orthodox Jewish home in Bischberg. His father began as a cloth maker and brought it to prosperity through the textile trade.
"Eduard Silbermann then attended high school in Bamberg and was the only one in Bavaria to receive a gold medal for outstanding achievements after passing his Abitur. After studying law, he became the first Jew to become a prosecutor in Germany in 1879. He worked in Regensburg, Augsburg and Munich, where he became President of the Senate at the Higher Regional Court."[2][3]

He passed away in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, 9 Feb 1917.[2]
