Ann was born in 1785 in Norfolk, United Kingdom. She had many siblings including Obadiah Boardman (born 1780), Richard James (born 1781), William (born 1782), Cubit (born 1783), Rebecca (born 1784), John (born 1786), George (born 1788), Elizabeth, Priscilla Martha, Mary and Susannah.

She married Francis Clowes in 1804, when she was 19 years old.

Together, they had at least nine children; four sons and five daughters. Ann's first child was born when she was 19, her last child was born when she was 42.

Ann Silcock was born in Stalham, Norfolk, England on June 21, 1785. She was baptized at St. Mary Stalham on June 26,1785.[2] Ann was the daughter of Obediah Silcock and Rebecca Boardman.
