Biography
Mary Jane Siler[1] [2]was born 06/03/1850 in Whitley County, KY and died 03/30/1922 in Whitley County, KY. Her parents are Hedrick Benjamin Siler (b 05/25/1805 in Knox Co, KY) and Jennie Warren (b. 04/30/1808 in Knox Co, KY). Mary married Adam D Siler (01/06/1850 – 07/17/1907) on 10/26/1873 in Campbell, County, TN. Adam is the son of Jacob F Siler (1825-1904) and Margaret Petrey (1827-1890). Mary Jane and Adam are 1st cousins, once removed. Jacob O Siler Sr is Mary’s grandfather and Adam’s great grandfather. Mary’s father, Hedrick and Adam’s father, Jacob are 1st cousins. Adam was a farmer and he and Mary lived in Whitley County, Kentucky their entire lives. Mary and Adam had 8 children: James Siler (abt 1874-died young), Joseph Marshall Siler (1874-1905), Prince Albert Siler (1876-1950), Margaret Jane Siler (1878-1957), Dora Alice Siler (died young), Tom Siler (died young), Nannie Peace Siler (1886-1942) and Carey Siler (1889-1921).
1850 U.S. Census[3] – Ben and Jane (Warren) Siler are living in Whitley County, Kentucky with 13 children: William (24 yrs), Sally (Sarah) (22 yrs), Nanny (Nancy) (20 yrs), Alvin (Adam) (19 yrs), Jesse (17 yrs), Rachel (15 yrs), Melinda (15 yrs), Margaret (10 yrs), Huy (Henry) (9 yrs), Biddy (6 yrs), Lankford (4 yrs), James (2 yrs) and Jane (1 yrs). Ben is a farmer.
