Margaret, born in 1886 [1]in Redcar, Guisborough, Yorkshire, was the sixth of the nine children of James Sill, a bricklayer, and Caroline Jane Price.[2]
In 1905 she probably married Thomas Lancelot Railton, a cabinet maker, although his name is not on the marriage record.[3] However, in the 1911 Census Thomas has been married to "Margaret" for five years. They have a five-year-old son, Lancelot William.[4]
