Minnie Lora Silva was born on March 27, 1906 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. Her father was Hugh Sylvester Silvey, and her mother was Emily Catherine Borden.[1]

In 1910, she lived in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.[2] In 1920, she lived on North 13th Street in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. Her father had passed away and her mother had remarried, but he is not listed on the census. He was a sheriff in Fort Smith and may have been away. Her sister Mary lived in the home, and Henry Walker listed as brother-in-law (not sure of his family connection). They had two lodgers living in the home (Wiley and Sam Tinner).[3]

Minnie married John Roy Tankersley Sr on October 8, 1927 in Crawford County, Arkansas.[4][5] After her marriage, she lived at 421 North 4th Street in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.[6]

In 1931, her son John Roy Jr was born, and her daughter Betty Lee in 1934. In 1940, she lived at 3101 Irven Street in Upper Township, Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.[7]

Sometime before 1942, she moved to California. Her husband John died on January 10, 1959 in Los Angeles County, California.[8]

In 1962, she lived at 3723 East 56th Street in Maywood, Los Angeles County, California.[9]

Minnie married Hezekiah Simkins on May 23, 1963 in Los Angeles County, California.[10]

Minnie died on December 13, 1991 in Pico Rivera, Los Angeles County, California.[11] She was buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Los Angeles County, California.[12]
